#Sigmatel audio settings manual
My Dell warranty's up, too, so I'm turning to you guys to see if you have any ideas. Instruction will vary per motherboard, so you need to follow the instructions in your PC or motherboard manual for this. then plugin your speakers and it sould display you that its set up.

I tried contacting Sigmatel support, but they said they can't help me, since their "OEM partners requested that all technical support for their models be handled by the OEMs directly". for you Roy Rico: Setting -> View Category -> Hardware and Sound -> Sigmatel Audio. I was hoping to either find a way to turn my line in/mic jack into a line out, or to make the system think there was no line out jack, thereby allowing me to use my internal speakers properly, but I've been unsuccessful so far. It's extremely frustrating- I found where I need to work to get my sound back, but it's not working.

For example, setting JackPresence10 and JackPresenceD to 0 did nothing. Unfortunately, changing the values of these entries to ones that I thought would do what I was looking for didn't work. I decided to do some registry digging, which proved very useful: I found entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sigmatel\GlobalState\STSysTray\1.0 labeled JackDeviceType, JackImpedance, JackPresence, and JackVerify, along with the information that the two jacks that are active on the system are JackDeviceType10 and JackDeviceTyped. First, any audio that is output from the headphone jack now only comes out of the left earphone (due to a new physical problem/bent pin/something inside the jack itself), and second, even when I have nothing plugged in to the line out/headphone jack, my computer won't output any audio through the internal speakers, since it's apparently registering that something is plugged in (again, due to a physical problem inside the jack).
